Day 1
Depart from Windhoek as your flight takes you over the great Escarpment into the vicinity of Sossusvlei, an area in the Namib Desert marked by some of the highest dunes on earth. After landing you are transferred by vehicle to your lodge. The Sossus Dune Lodge is located in the Namib Nakluft Park. The lodge is built in an environmentally sensitive manner, primarily from wood, canvas and thatch, in an attractive ‘afro-village’ style. Late afternoon game viewing drive.

Day 2
Enjoy a full day in the Namib Nakluft Park, home to all forms of desert wildlife near the spectacular sights of Sossusvlei. Visit the Sossusvlei dunes, which rise dramatically more than 300 yards and are surrounded by awe-inspiring topography. Emphasis is laid on the smaller desert fauna, spectacular scenery and the incredible night sky. Larger desert-adapted wildlife such as ostrich, springbok and gemsbok flourish here with carnivores such as bat-eared fox, Cape fox, cheetah and black-backed jackal.

Day 3+4
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Swakopmund. The entire flight takes you over the dune landscape of the oldest desert on earth, and along the Atlantic coastline. Enjoy sights such as old diamond ghost mines, ancient shipwrecks, Langewand and Sandwich Harbor from a birds-eye perspective. Enjoy the Living Desert Tour through the dunes outside Swakopmund. Discover the abundant life in this ostensibly desolate landscape.

Breakfast and morning at leisure. Early afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight north into Damaraland, an area marked by steep mountain massifs that tower over meandering riverbeds and form the survival structure for Desert Elephant, Black Rhino and a myriad of free-roaming antelope species. Your lodge is situated in close vicinity to the geological attractions that may be visited in the afternoon or during the morning of the next day. The highlight of these attractions, Twyfelfontein, represents Namibia’s only world heritage site and belongs to one of the world’s largest rock-art sites.

Day 6
Early morning game drive, accompanied by a tracker who will take you out in search of the elusive Desert Elephants. You travel in 4x4 vehicles and actively take part in tracking wildlife. Breakfast at the camp and transfer to the airstrip for your short flight to the southern edge of Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife reserves. Embark on an afternoon game viewing drive.

Day 7+8
The Etosha Pan, a vast saline desert that shimmers with terrestrial heat during the day, is surrounded by a number of waterholes that sustain over 114 different wildlife species as well as 340 different bird species. You may encounter 4 of the Big Five species as well as rare and endangered animals such as cheetah, Sable and the Damara Dik-Dik, Namibia’s smallest antelope. Enjoy two game viewing drives from the Epacha Game Lodge.
